Chambly, December 4, 2018—Transportation industry leaders came together on November 21st for the ISAAC Leadership Summit. Carriers from across Canada attended the event, which was held at the Broadview Hotel in Toronto. Experts in various fields took the stage to address issues the industry faces, from change management to driver retention; they shared best practices so attendees could leave the conference with tools to implement.

Libby Gill, leadership consultant and author of five books on the topic, got things going with a presentation on change in the workplace. The topic was then discussed in greater detail by a panel made up of Scott Tilley of Tandet Group, Mark Seymour of Kriska Transportation Group and Patrick Marcotte of TYT Group and moderated by Lou Smyrlis, editor at Newcom Media. Panelists shared what they had learned and their success stories for the benefit of all.

Another issue discussed during the conference was the legalization of cannabis in Canada. Lawyer Shelley Brown spoke to leaders and offered some guidelines to help implement and enforce workplace policies. Angela Splinter, CEO of Trucking HR Canada, shared innovative strategies to help carriers improve driver retention.

“The objective of the ISAAC Leadership Summit was to bring together industry leaders and explore as a group ways to tackle the issues we all face. It was also an opportunity to gauge user opinion to understand how ISAAC’s solution can help address these issues.”

Along with rewarding conferences, guests enjoyed a casual atmosphere in which to network and, to cap off the event, the comedy of Adam Growe, best known for his work on Cash Cab.
